Manchester City have signed goalkeeper Ederson Moraes for £35m from Benfica.
The 23-year-old made his name at Benfica last season and recently won the Portuguese league and cup double. Emerson will join Man City when the transfer window opens on July 1st.
Ederson is quoted in saying:
“With Pep Guardiola, City are growing more and more. He’s putting in place a young team for the future. Those were important factors in my decision. I have always had the dream to play in English football and now I’m going to make it true.”

He added “Manchester City has an amazing squad. Next season, we will have to be focused to achieve the goal of winning trophies.”
Benfica announced that the deal had been concluded last Thursday, whilst adding 50% of the fee will be paid to “third parties”.
This is a considerable signing from Guardiola and it can be expected Ederson will be occupying the #1 jersey come August.
