Tottenham Hotspur vs. AFC Bournemouth
Tottenham Hotspur welcome Bournemouth to Wembley on Saturday, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men eager to set straight their woeful home form in the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.
Bournemouth; under Eddie Howe, have won just one Premier League game in 2017/18, scoring four goals and conceding 11 in the process: the third worst PL goal difference from all 20 teams.
Eddie Howe himself admitted prior to the international break he was “under pressure from myself”, and the Cherries will look to capitalise on Tottenham’s inconsistency at Wembley when they visit on Saturday.
Bournemouth could be without forward Josh King and midfielder Ryan Fraser, who Howe confirmed in mid-week are both nursing hamstring injuries.
Spurs will welcome the return of Serge Aurier from a one-match suspension, though Danny Rose, Moussa Dembele and Erik Lamela have returned to training but remain unavailable for selection.
In Spurs’ four previous Premier League encounters with Bournemouth, they have retained an unbeaten status (W3 D1), whilst winning their last two home fixtures against the Cherries to an aggregate score of 7-0.
Harry Kane; this week named on the 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist, is in scintillating goal-scoring form at present, with 11 goals in his last seven appearances for Spurs, and the Englishman will be looking to continue that rich goalscoring form on Saturday.
Expected starting XI’s:
Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen; Trippier, Sissoko, Dier, Davies; Eriksen, Alli; Kane.
Bournemouth: Begovic; Smith, Francis, Ake, Daniels; Ibe, Surman, Arter, Stanislas; King, Defoe.
Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur 3 AFC Bournemouth 0
