Arsenal in contact with Jesper Lindstrom over summer move

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a move for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom in the summer transfer window, looking to fend off competition from Liverpool.
It has already been a good summer for the Gunners, who will be well aware of the importance of kicking on and ensuring that last season wasn’t a one-off.
Mikel Arteta’s side fell just short in the Premier League title race, but they have made several key signings who are likely to make the north Londoners even stronger.
The big-money arrival of Declan Rice from West Ham is their most high-profile capture, with the England international a huge signing, but Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber could also be shrewd additions.
Arsenal’s spending may not be done yet, however, and according to Ekstra Bladet [via Gooner Talk], they are “already in contact” with Lindstrom over a summer move to the club.
The Dane has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent months and their interest hasn’t gone away, with Liverpool also tracking his progress.

Lindstrom could be another strong signing by Arsenal as they prepare for the new Premier League season, with the Frankfurt man someone who ticks so many boxes.
At 23, he fits the profile that Arteta wants age-wise, with the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba all around that age, for example, and he is someone who can be a good link man between the midfield and attack.
Last season, Lindstrom scored seven goals and registered two assists in the Bundesliga, and he also represented Denmark three times at the 2022 World Cup.
Squad depth is essential for Arsenal moving forward, considering there is Champions League football to tackle next season, and the attacking midfielder would aid that greatly, providing competition for Odegaard in the process.
An average of one tackle per game in the Bundesliga last term shows that Lindstrom can also contribute defensively, which Arteta demands in his attacking players, and he is at an age where he should only improve.
Whether he is content with coming in and not being a guaranteed starter remains to be seen, but the lure of playing for one of Europe’s most exciting young teams could be too great to turn down.
