Arsenal set to launch bid for Ryan Fraser

Arsenal and Unai Emery are planning to launch a bid for Bournemouth’s Scottish winger, Ryan Fraser, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

Fraser, 25, has been in impressive form for the Cherries in the current campaign, playing an influential role in staving off any fears of relegation for the South Coast side sitting 12th on 38 points.

The Scotsman has struck up an impressive partnership with England striker Callum Wilson with the pair combining to score a total of 17 league goals and register 19 assists, many of which have come from a result of the direct partnership between the two forwards.

Emery’s admission earlier this season that Arsenal could only sign loan players, prompting the signing of Dennis Suarez from Barcelona, means the profile of Fraser as a lower-cost option with proven Premier League experience could appeal to the North London outfit, further strengthened by his international pedigree.

The transfer would signal a serious blow to Eddie Howe and Bournemouth, with the Scot standing out as one of their key performers alongside Wilson in the 2018/19 campaign.

The departure of Aaron Ramsey to Juventus on a free will free up a sizeable gap in Arsenal’s wage structure that they will be looking to fill with a player of notable experience and pedigree.

A move for Fraser would represent economic efficiency on a proven Premier League player, at just 25 years of age.
