Bournemouth secure second league win as Stoke slip into the bottom-three.

Bournemouth emerged as 2-1 victors at the Britannia, with first-half goals from Andrew Surman and Junior Stanislas meaning the Cherries secured just their second league win of the season.

The game was sparked into life in the 20th minute, when Andrew Surman collected the ball 20 yards out and slotted in, the assist coming from Junior Stanislas.

Stanislas then switched from provider to scorer, after Benik Afobe was fouled in the box by Ryan Shawcross. The penalty was clinically dispatched by Stanislas, giving Bournemouth a vital 2-0 lead after having scored just four times in eight league fixtures prior.

Mame Biram Diouf managed to secure a goal back for the hosts, after an efficient knock-down from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, though it was simply in vain for Stoke City as they fell to their fifth league defeat of the season.

Mark Hughes would’ve been looking for a stern response from his side after their 7-2 demolition at the Etihad last weekend, though that response was lacking, with Eddie Howe’s side dominant in all departments resulting in two quick fire goals.

The result leaves Stoke City in 18th place, in the Premier League relegation zone, as Bournemouth move just one point behind Mark Hughes’ men though also in the relegation zone themselves.
