It is being reported that Everton will announce the singing of highly-rated Burnley defender Michael Keane today for £25m.
Keane; 24, is supposedly undertaking a medical today before the transfer is finalised.
The ex-Manchester United academy player made the second most blocks last season at 44 as well as 260 clearances as he helped his team finish in 16th.
All the more impressive when Burnley’s estimated squad value for last season was £55.7m, the lowest in the Premier League.
If the Keane transfer is successful and Everton also sign Spain’s U21 attacker Sandro Ramirez as expected, then this will take their summer spending up to more than £90m.
With the signings of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford from Sunderland and Ajax captain Davy Klaassen already completed it is clear that Everton are laying down a huge statement of intent for the 2017-18 Premier League season.
Everton often struggle in Europa League seasons but with these signings who’s to say they won’t be pushing for a top-four finish?
