Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made enquires over Renato Sanches.
The talented midfielder was voted the best young player at Euro 2016 yet he has failed to establish himself in Munich and has admitted that he would be open to a move to find more playing time after only one season with the German club.
Rummenigge also said that ‘there are at least 10 teams after Sanches’. AC Milan being one of them, having held talks with Bayern Munich over a move for the young Portuguese player.
Conte opened the line of dialogue after his team’s 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday, which Sanches started for.
Chelsea have already signed defensive midfielder Bakayoko so it will be interesting to see where Sanches fits in to Conte’s plans if Chelsea do sign him. Sanches is a very versatile player who is comfortable in attacking, defensive, central and wide roles. If Conte manages to nurture back out the talent which lit up Euro 2016 he could be an important asset to have in the squad as Chelsea look to regain their Premier League title in the coming season.
