Burnley eye Manchester City outcast in £4m deal

Two-time Premier League winner Joe Hart is reportedly on his way to Burnley, according to The Sun.

The keeper is rumoured to be travelling to Burnley to undergo a medical this afternoon, with Manchester City ready to let him go for £4 million. Hart has been outcast by managerial mastermind Pep Guardiola, who made it perfectly clear when he arrived at City that he didn’t see the ‘keeper as part of his long term plans.

The 31-year-old has spent the past two seasons on loan at Torino and West Ham United. Blunders and spills dominated headlines during the spells, and the former Premier League champion cut a nervy figure between the sticks.

With his confidence at rock-bottom following his omission for England’s World Cup squad, a move to Burnley could see Hart reinvigorate his career. Burnley manager Sean Dyche is desperate to make additions in the goalkeeping department at Turf Moor, following injuries to stoppers Tom Heaton and Nick Pope.

Burnley secured passage to the third qualifying round of the Europa League last night, following a 4-2 aggregate victory over Aberdeen. With the potential for extra fixtures this season, Burnley need to act quickly to sort out their current goalkeeping woes, and Hart looks to be the answer.
