Chelsea are set to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko for a reported fee of £33.4m.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is said to have identified France international Bakayoko as a versatile midfielder who will add unquestionable quality to the Premier League champions’ squad.
Wages are reported to be in the region of £120,000 p/week, with Bakayoko’s arrival set to spark the departure of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, a similar fee of £34m reported.
Bakayoko, 22, was a pivotal part of the Monaco squad that reached the Champions League semi-finals last season, and Conte will be looking to Bakayoko to provide defensive stability in partnership with last years PFA Players’ Player of the Year, Ngolo Kante.
Chelsea continue to be linked with Juventus and Brazil wing-back Alex Sandro, whilst reported moves for Romelu Lukaku, Virgil Van Dijk and Micheal Keane continue to surface in the British media.
The future of Dutch defender Nathan Ake remains un-decided, with reports linking Bournemouth with a £20m move for the Dutch ace.
