Eden Hazard speaks out amidst Real Madrid speculation

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has spoken out regarding his preferable scenario if the Belgian is to depart for Real Madrid this summer.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Hazard, 28, touched upon how winning the Europa League against Arsenal on Wednesday would be the “perfect farewell” as speculation mounts that Zinedine Zidane and Madrid are set to launch a blockbuster move, despite Chelsea’s impending transfer ban from FIFA.

“It is a European competition, so for me, for the club, for the manager, for the fans, it is something important,” said Hazard.

“When you play a final, it does not matter whether it is the Champions League, Europa League or League Cup, you just want to win, you just want to bring the trophy home and celebrate that”.

“When you play for Chelsea at the start of the season, people think about which trophy we can have at the end of May, so this one is the important one”.

“We lost the League Cup final, so at the end of the season this is the trophy we can go for”.

“I just want to win the trophy, that is it. It does not matter if I score or I do not score. If it is my last game, I hope to bring the trophy”.

“Would it be the perfect farewell? Yes.”

When asked if Hazard could see himself playing for another Premier League team in the future, the Belgian was firm in his response.

“No chance, no chance. I am a Blue! It means a lot,” he added. “I cannot play for another club in the country.”

Since arriving in 2012, Hazard has made over 350 appearances for the West London side, winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and the Europa League.

His departure would be considered a significant blow to Maurizio Sarri, whose own future at Stamford Bridge remains under considerable scrutiny.
