FEATURE: Transfer Watch. Who’s on the move to and from the Premier League?

The Premier League is now very much underway as Manchester United have taken an early lead at the top of the table. Obviously, the table at this moment means absolutely nothing, but something that does, is transfers.

The window shuts in exactly two weeks and many clubs are still searching to add to their squads in this highly inflated market. Here are the biggest rumours of the last week…

Philippe Coutinho – Liverpool to Barcelona

Barcelona’s general manager Josep Segura has gone to record after the club’s 5-1 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup to claim that the 25-year-old Brazilian is ‘close’ to joining the Catalan club.

Coutinho hasn’t played in either of Liverpool’s games this season after submitting a transfer request, which was rejected by the club, as he looks to replace Neymar, after he moved to Paris St-Germain for £198m earlier this month.

William Carvalho – Sporting Lisbon to West Ham United

The 25-year-old Angolan born defensive midfielder is exactly what West Ham need to cap off an impressive window. The deal is in the balance after the fee which owners David Gold and David Sullivan were quoted, at £30m, has increased to £36m.

Davinson Sanchez – Ajax to Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs are yet to sign anyone this summer but Ajax’s 21-year-old Colombian centre-back could be their first move into the market. A deal was reportedly close at £36m, but the Dutch club have increased their asking price to £45m.

Jonny Evans – West Bromwich Albion to Manchester City
The Baggies’ captain has impressed since joining from Manchester United in the summer of 2015. Although his form has been good, it’s a surprise that the 29-year-old is being linked to his former club’s rivals, Manchester City. A fee of £18m has reportedly been rejected.

Virgil Van Dijk – Southampton to Chelsea/Liverpool
The story of the summer has been whether Virgil van Dijk will leave St. Mary’s for Anfield. The deal is reportedly once again dead in the water, with Chelsea now taking an interest. Watch this space…
