FPL managers should easily win on FanTeam

If you have to yet the read our first article on FanTeam’s new €250,000 fantasy football tournament, then we suggest that you do so here. You can read about all the amazing cash prizes, the rules and a general introduction to FanTeam in that article.

Now that you know more about this exciting new competition, it is time to explain why you Fantasy Football boffins will excel, and potentially win some huge sums of money. Remember, the overall winner will receive a life-changing €50,000. And there are also huge cash prizes for the top managers of each month and each week.

So, is there an advantage of being good at the official Fantasy Premier League game? Absolutely! Given the similar nature of the point scoring system, budgetary restrictions and player prices, you can create identical teams on both platforms.

So let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. Every manager has to select two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three attackers using their £100m budget, before picking a starting XI from these players – sounds familiar, right? A captain and vice-captain for your team is selected…

Actually, I don’t need to tell you how that works, as I am convinced that you will already be completely familiar with the structure of the Fantasy Premier League game. The two games are that similar.

Transferring players is also the exact same in terms of one free transfer per week and exceeding this comes with a penalty of -4 points. Free transfers can roll on to the next gameweek, but you can never have more than two free transfers. Just like in the official FPL game, there are two wildcards to be used during the season at your discretion (one in each half of the season).

Identical player buy and sell prices

There are a couple of slight changes, however. Firstly, players have identical buy and sell prices. Is there anything more frustrating when you buy a hidden gem before everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. Then, when his price rises, you barely profit from it. Last season, Wolves striker Raul Jiménez started off as a £5.5m striker. By the end of the campaign, he was worth £6.9m. In FanTeam’s game, you could have made a £1.4m profit over the cause of the season due to the equal buy and sell prices. This means that astute management and a clever recruitment policy is rewarded in FanTeam’s fantasy tournament!

Point scoring system vs official FPL game

The other major differences come in the point-scoring. In the whole, they are strikingly similar to the official game (goals, assists, clean sheets etc.). Midfielders and attackers receive extra appearances points for completing the full 90 minutes – but defenders and goalkeepers do not as they are less frequently subbed. Speaking of goalkeepers, they now receive EIGHT points for scoring a goal. Could a fluky goal from your ‘keeper transform your Gameweek this season? In terms of points for saves, every save is worth 0.5 points, compared to 1 point per three saves in the official game. This figure is not rounded up or down, so a goalkeeper could end a match with 7.5 points for example.

Bonus points?

Players do not receive bonus points in FanTeam’s game, instead they earn impact points – based on whether or not their team is losing or winning during their time on the pitch. For example, let’s imagine Raheem Sterling starts a game for Manchester City. They are winning 2-0 at half time and he is subsequently subbed off. Leroy Sane replaces him and City end up losing 3-2. Sterling would pick up +1 point, and Sane -1 point, regardless of their individual performances.

Chips?

There are no triple captain, bench boost or free hit chips to stress over in FanTeam’s game, just the aforementioned two transfer wildcards. These wildcards work exactly the same as they do in the original game.

Extended gameweek deadline

Ever been left sweating over the fitness of your star player in the early kick-off? Worry no longer. In FanTeam’s game, the deadline is the kick-off of the first fixture for that particular gameweek, enabling you to check the starting line-ups before making any last-ditch alterations to your team.

Why does it benefit experienced FPL managers?

So, if you are familiar with the original game, given the similarity of the rules in FanTeam’s fantasy tournament, if you team is performing well in FPL, they will also be performing well in FanTeam’s game. For just a €25 payment, there is the potential to win hundreds every week, thousands every month and many many thousands at the end of the season!

Quite simply, if you enjoy Fantasy Premier League, you will love FanTeam’s version! And if you are good at the game, you will love it, even more, when you win money! All of the top 1,250 managers will win money, meaning that you don’t even have to perform ridiculously well to earn some serious dollar.

At €25, with large weekly, monthly and overall cash prizes on offer, it is inevitable that spaces will run out. And even if they don’t, the €250,000 prize pool is GUARANTEED. So sign up and build what could be a life-changing team.
