FPL: Three players who could excel in GW7 | joshuapsjones

Fantasy Football Gameweek 7 is here already and @joshuapsjones is here to take you through a few players that should excel this week in FPL.

Kieran Trippier – £6.1m (Huddersfield v Tottenham)

In the absence of Benjamin Mendy (£6.2m) and due to the higher price of Kyle Walker (£6.6m), I really like the sound of Kieran Tripper away at Huddersfield in Gameweek 7.

In Tottenham’s only previous visit to the Kirklees Stadium, Tripps earned himself two assists and a clean sheet. If he gets anywhere near that this time, we’ll be laughing.

Spurs head to Yorkshire having seemingly overcome a little bit of a bad spell, and should take confidence from the fact the Terriers’ entire season has been a ‘bad spell’ so far.

Winless through their first seven games in all competitions and drawing a blank in all three of their home games so far, David Wagner will not be excited for the visit of a Tottenham side that put six goals past his side without reply last season.
With a goal and two assists already this season, Trippier could be in for a bumper gameweek here – especially having been rested in the midweek cup win over Watford.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – £6.9m (Everton v Fulham)

I advised Mitrovic last week and he duly obliged against Watford, scoring Fulham’s equaliser before hitting the crossbar with a header in the 90th minute.

The Serbian behemoth is absolutely flying in the Premier League this season and his next conquest is an Everton side that haven’t kept a single clean sheet so far this season.

The Toffees failed to take advantage of their first half pressure last week at The Emirates, and were outclassed by West Ham at Goodison Park the week before.

Since February 3rd, Mitrovic has scored more league goals than anyone in the top four divisions of English football and – with seven goals (and an assist) in his last seven games for club and country –  expect that to continue against an Everton defence that has conceded eleven times already this season.

Bernardo Silva – £7.5m (Manchester City v Brighton & Hove Albion)

Bernardo Silva is one of my absolute favourite players in the Premier League right now and his performances so far already this season are making him one of my favourite Fantasy Football picks too.

When he starts, Manchester City score goals. It’s as simple as that. In the diminutive playmaker’s four starts this season, City have won four, scored 16 and conceded once. In the two he hasn’t; they’ve scored three, conceded two and won once.

With two goals and an assist this season, including a 14-point haul against Cardiff last weekend, the Portuguese international represents solid value in a Manchester City attack in which he ranks as only the eighth most expensive player (behind Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane, Riyad Mahrez and David Silva).

He bagged in last season’s home victory over Brighton and could do so again this weekend. The license to roam with which he is afforded by Pep Guardiola makes him extremely difficult to mark and means he could pop up anywhere. Hopefully he’ll pop up with a goal.
