It’s no secret that Fulham face an early relegation battle at the foot of the Premier League table and Ranieri could make his first signing for the Cottagers with the hope of strengthening his struggling side. Fulham are one place off bottom and are in need of some serious attacking impetus in order to pull them up the table.

Origi, 23, scored a bizarre winner for the reds in the Merseyside derby earlier this season, but it seems the chances of him nailing a regular starting place are slim. The Reds boss, Jurgen Klopp, recently explained the exodus of attacking players, with Domonic Solanke going to Bournemouth – he commented that his talented squad was limiting the youngsters’ game time.

Fulham are currently relying on forward Aleksandar Mitrovic for goals, who they signed in the summer for £15 million from Newcastle. The Serbian striker has netted eight times so far, but often lacks support from other attacking players. An attacking addition could see a dynamic partnership between Mitrovic and Origi take place, which would wield some force.

Origi joined the reds back in 2014 from Lille OSC for a fee of £12 million and since then the striker has been loaned out twice, to Lille OSC and Wolfsburg. Origi, during his time at Liverpool, has netted a total of 13 goals, scoring in some big games. The most notable was in Liverpool’s astonishing 4-3 comeback against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League – Origi netted first for the Reds in that game.

So there’s no doubt that Origi is a big game player, but can he deliver at the bottom of the league, and hoist up a struggling Fulham side?
