Fulham set for £40m spend on two key targets

Fulham are preparing for life in the Premier League in big style, as they close in on two targets to bolster their playing squad.

The Cottagers have already set tongues wagging over their transfer coup for Ivory Coast international Jean-Michael Seri. The Ivorian midfielder was subject to interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, but opted for Fulham.

The two key targets Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is closing on include former Spain U20 international Fabricio Ramirez, known as ‘Fabri’. The goalkeeper is currently contracted to Besiktas, and his £5m transfer to Craven Cottage is said open up the way for the Turkish side to continue their pursuit of Arsenal stopper Ospina.

The second target is 28-year-old David Lopez, who currently plays in the heart of defence for La Liga side Espanyol. The Catalan was previously at Napoli and has a release clause of £35.8 million. As of yet Fulham are unwilling to meet the clause, but have tabled an £18 million offer.

Fulham’s transfer activity is a real statement of intent, and Jokanovic will be hoping the Lilywhites can avoid a relegation battle and settle comfortably in mid-table.
