Leicester City and Brendan Rodgers are considering making Monaco midfielder Youri Tieleman’s transfer permanent at the price of £40m after an impressive start to his career in the East Midlands, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
Tielemans, 21, has struck up an impressive partnership with striker Jamie Vardy, and fits the profile of player that Leicester are keen to acquire as they attempt to bridge the gap between the top-six and the chasing pack under Rodgers.
Seven games into his Premier League career, Tielemans has shown glimpses of class that accompanied the midfielder following his Champions League debut aged just 16, and for the second game in a row the 21-year-old was voted man of the match by Leicester’s fanbase.
With four assists and one goal, the hype surrounding Monaco’s much-hyped midfielder is unsurprising. Against Bournemouth, no player achieved more successful passes than Tielemans (70) alongside a passing success rate of 89.7%.
