Liverpool rule out England midfielder leaving on loan

Jurgen Klopp has ruled out allowing midfielder Adam Lallana to leave on loan in the January window, according to reports in Sky Sports.

Lallana, 30, has recently returned from a long-term groin injury that had kept him out of action for the last four months, but his return to fitness is seen as a major boost to Liverpool and Klopp, as the Merseysiders go in search of their first league title in over 28 years.

The likes of Fenerbache had been credited as holding an interest in the England international, where Liverpool’s former sporting director, Damian Comolli, presently works.

Since his £25m move to Anfield in 2014, Lallana has struggled for first-team action, playing 106 times in all competitions whilst scoring 17 goals.

The former Southampton midfielder has also played 34 times for the England seniors, scoring on three occasions.

Klopp allowing Lallana to depart whilst the Premier League leaders are embroiled in a title-race could prove to be a regrettable move, and it would appear the German boss is unwilling to take any chances in denying the Englishman a loan move to ensure Liverpool’s strength in depth remains at its highest possible level as the Merseysiders go in search of the Premier League title.

Liverpool next travel to Wolves in the 3rd round of the FA Cup followed by a trip to the South Coast to take on Brighton on January 12th in the Premier League.
