Everton vs Watford
Date: Sunday 5th November
Venue: Goodison Park
Everton host Watford at Goodison Park on Sunday, in a game David Unsworth; Everton’s caretaker manager, has described as “potentially my last”.
Coming of the back of a second defeat to Lyon; conceding three and scoring none (much like they did when they traveled to Atalanta in the Europa League) Everton have had their last taste of Europe for at least the next two years, unless some Premier League miracle transpires.Embed from Getty Images
Without a striker or an efficient left back, Everton have not found the resurgence many clubs find after sacking their manager, with David Unsworth reigning over two Premier League defeats and a Europa League failure vs Lyon.
You could say Everton leaving Europe will show signs of improvement in the Premier League, however, the knock of confidence after facing Lyon and bowing out of the Europa League will not make things easy against an attacking and fearsome Watford who have looked a fantastic proposition under Marco Silva in 2017/18.
Although having a terrific start too the seasons Watford have not been in the best of form lately, losing both their previous Premier League games, however after a valiant fight against both Stoke and Chelsea, the Hornets certainly seem the more convincing side, especially looking at their away form this season.Embed from Getty Images
Since their only loss away from home this season was against the previous years champions, Watford will not be short of confidence and Marco Silva and his men will be delighted to eradicate the manger-less under-confident husk of Everton and get back to winning ways.
