Southampton vs Everton
Date: 26/11/17
K.O: 13.30pm
Venue: St Mary’s
Southampton play host to a struggling Everton side on Sunday at St Mary’s with the Toffees remaining manager-less, over a month after they sacked Ronald Koeman.
The two sides are struggling in terms of their previous seasons, sitting 14th and 16th respectively with only one point between the two teams. It is likely to be a closely contested game, and with both teams struggling to find the net consistently this year it may take some form of miracle to escape the last place spot on Match of The Day.
Southampton have been heavily struggling without their star player, Mario Lemina, only scoring 1 in 3 and not winning a match. However, he could make an appearance as a ‘late call’ will be made on whether he is fit to play.
If Lemina is unable to play it may leave Pellegrino struggling for a central midfield as his partner, Oriol Romeo, is out due to a suspension, along with Matt Targett out with a hamstring injury.
Everton will be without star striker Oumar Niasse as he becomes the first player in history to be suspended for diving vs Crystal Palace. Morgan Schneiderlin (toe) and Phil Jagielka (groin) are also questionable for Sundays game.
Predicted starting XI’s:
Southampton FC (4-2-2-2) – Forster, Cedric, Van Dijk, Hoedt, Bertrand, Davis, Lemina, Tadic, Boufal, Long, Gabbiadini
Everton FC (4-4-1-1) – Pickford, Kenny, Keane, Jagielka, Baines, Lennon, Gueye, Rooney, Lookman, Sigurdsson, Calvert-lewin.
Prediction: 1-1
