Real Madrid set to bid £112m for Chelsea star Eden Hazard

Real Madrid are reportedly set to launch a £112m blockbuster bid for Chelsea’s Belgian ace Eden Hazard, in a move to replace Cristiano Ronaldo at The Bernabeu.

The Belgian captain, who finished third with his country at the 2018 World Cup, moved to the London outfit in 2012 for £32m from Lille, and has considerably enhanced his reputation since making the move.

With Real Madrid recently waving farewell to the definition of a galactico in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo, Madrid present Fiorinto Perez will be desperate to bring on board a player of the highest calibre available; it is indisputable that Hazard fits that description.

Hazard has scored 69 goals and registered 39 assists in 208 Premier League appearances, and during his six years at Chelsea he has become their most important player. The departure of Hazard would be nothing short of disastrous for new manager Maurizio Sarri, and the Italian will be desperate to convince Hazard that his future lies with the Blues.

With rumours rife regarding the potential departure of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to Madrid, if Chelsea were to lose their two of their best players to the Spanish giants, it would mark a backwards step in their progression and continental standing – Sarri has a task on his hands, and irrespective of incomings at Stamford Bridge, his core task will be to prevent this Belgian superstar from departing the realms of West London.
