Southampton have sacked their manager Mauricio Pellegrino with just eight games left of the 2017/18 Premier League season.
Under Pellegrino, Southampton have won one of their past 17 league matches, and the board have decided to sack their manager hovering just one point above the Premier League relegation zone.
Southampton are now in their sixth successive season in the Premier League, and it has been reported the club are looking to have a manager in place for their FA Cup clash against Wigan at the weekend.
Southampton are now the ninth club to switch managers in the Premier League this season, with Marco Silva and Mark Hughes now the bookies favourites to take the vacant post at St Mary’s.
