The 25-year-old midfielder has seemingly been stuck in limbo this transfer window with rumours beginning early in January about a move to Emery’s Arsenal. However, the deal hit complications in the middle of the window with Barcelona seeking to sell the player outright whilst Arsenal only wanted to do a loan signing.

The Gunners do however have an option to buy the Spanish international in the summer for an unreported fee.

Suarez will be linking back up with a former coach in Unai Emery, who he worked under at Sevilla in the 2014/15 season is delighted with this acquisition, saying he brings quality and ‘options in different attacking positions.

Suarez is a versatile midfield player who can also be deployed out wide as part of a front three. Primarily a ball player, Suarez will be seen as a replacement to Aaron Ramsey, who will make the move to Juventus in Summer and potentially even Mesut Ozil, who has been an irregular feature for Arsenal in the last month.

Many believe Suarez possesses similar technical abilities to Ozil, however the fact that he combines this with added work rate and dynamism makes him perfect for Emery’s Arsenal. It will be intriguing to see how he well he adapts to the Premier League.
