Swansea City vs. Huddersfield Town

Date: 14/10/17

K.O: 15.00pm

Newly-promoted Huddersfield Town head to South Wales for their clash against Swansea on Saturday.

The Swans will be hoping to pick up some form and stop conceding late goals after the international break. Following a brilliant start to the campaign, David Wagner’s side are in a slump. Huddersfield have lost three and drawn two of their last five. Prior to the international break, Huddersfield dropped into the bottom half of the table after losing4-0 at home to Tottenham.

Swansea meanwhile head into the match in the relegation zone. Paul Clement’s side suffered a late 1-0 defeat at West Ham. The Swans have the worst home record in the Premier League this season, scoring just one goal at the Liberty Stadium in three defeats. Sung-Yeung Ki is a doubt after being replaced before the half-hour mark in Korean’s defeat to Morocco.

Nathan Dyer comes back into contention after playing two matches for the under-23s. Renato Sanches is a doubt after picking up a thigh strain. Wilfried Bony is available despite picking up a hamstring problem at West Ham. Wagner confirmed that Michael Hefele could miss up to six weeks with an ongoing Achilles problem. Jon Stankovic is ruled out with a knee injury, although the defender has returned to training.

Kasey Palmer and Daniel Williams are ruled out with thigh and foot injuries respectively. Steve Mounie is expected to return while fellow striker and Collin Quaner remains a doubt with a calf injury.

Expected starting XI’s:

Swansea City: Fabianski, Olsson, Fernandez, Mawson, Naughton, Sanches, Britton, Carroll, Ayew, Abraham, Bony

Huddersfield Town: Lossl, Lowe, Zanka, Schindler, Smith, Mooy, Hogg, Van La Parra, Ince, Kachunga, Mounie

Prediction: Swansea 0 Huddersfield 0

I fear that this is going to be a rather tepid affair for two teams who have struggled in recent weeks. Both teams struggled before the international break, and I can see this game playing out as a bore-draw at the Liberty.
