Tottenham consider £35m move for Barcelona winger

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a January move for Barcelona winger Malcom, just six months after the Brazilian’s move from Bordeaux, according to reports in Corriere dello Sport.

Malcom, who has struggled to nail down a starting berth at Barca owing to the form of Phillippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele, was subject to intense transfer speculation after Roma believed they had secured the signing of the 21 year-old, including a potential legal injunction from the Italian side after they were adamant they had finalised the deal.

The Brazilian is widely considered to be one of Europe’s hottest prospects after an impressive two full seasons in Bordeaux where he scored 20 goals and registered 12 assists, and after a lacklustre summer transfer window for Spurs, the move could make sense for all concerned.

Spurs manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has manoeuvred the club’s best ever start to a Premier League season, with seven wins from nine, though after a highly publicised pursuit of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish that fell short, the Argentinian would unquestionably be keen to add an attacking player to his armoury in January.

The situation Malcom finds himself in at Barcelona could mean a transfer to North London, in the region of £35m as reported by Corriere dello Sport, would suit all parties, as the Brazilian certainly holds the ability to impress in the Premier League.
