22-year-old Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore is due to be having a medical with Wolves on Tuesday ahead of a prospected £18 million club record move, as reported by BBC Sport.

The Spaniard is a former Le Masia academy player for Barcelona as well as having represented Aston Villa in the Premier League. Despite playing 37 times for both Villa and Middlesbrough in the top flight he’s yet to score a Premier League goal, but managed five last season as Tony Pulis’ side lost to Aston Villa in the Championship play-off.

During his first stint in the Premier League Traore was accused of lacking end product, although in the Championship last season he created ten assists and averaged over double the number of successful crosses compared to when Middlesbrough were relegated.

The Spaniard would become Wolves tenth signing of what has been an incredibly busy window for the newly promoted side.

Traore represents an exciting prospect if Nuno Espirito Santo can harness the winger’s raw speed and ability to dribble to unlock his full potential. Although, to do so the Portuguese manager will have to tackle Traore’s disciplinary issues and occasional poor decision making, causing him to struggle to retain possession.
