Arsenal star set for move across London in January

It is believed that Crystal Palace are considering a January move for Arsenal star Danny Welbeck for a fee of £10m. The Eagles have only scored eight goals in 11 Premier League matches so far and are hopeful Welbeck will offer considerably more firepower up top to solve their recent attacking issues.

Palace have struggled in front of goal this season and with Welbeck out of contract this summer they could be set to make the move. Having said this, Welbeck has been used on numerous occasions this season and has impressed under Emery; although it is worth noting most of his Premier League appearances have been cameos off the bench.

The 27-year-old has one goal and one assist to his name in the Premier League this season, scoring in the London derby vs West Ham. He has also started every one of Arsenal’s cup fixtures having success across European and domestic competitions, netting four times in the process.

With Welbeck’s contract expiring in the summer, he will be out of contract and with Arsenal not believed to be renewing his contract; Palace may swoop early but may struggle to match his £75,000-a-week wages.

Roy Hodgson is keen on the striker and has managed him while managing the England national side. The talk of the switch has got Arsenal fans excited this week, with some even suggesting on Twitter that Wilfried Zaha could make his way to the Emirates as part of the deal. Although time will tell on that one.
