Arsenal could look to bring in a new right-sided player towards the end of the summer transfer window, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have enjoyed a productive summer to date since the end of last season, as they look to go up a gear and further challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title in 2023/24.
Declan Rice has signed from West Ham, moving to north London in a big-money deal, with the England international arguably one of Arsenal’s most exciting midfield additions in years, given his long-term ceiling.
The hope is that more new faces will also come in, though – Jurrien Timber has arrived from Ajax, too – and now a new update has emerged regarding their potential business.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Romano claimed that a right-sided winger could be look at later in the current window, once Cedric Soares and Albert Sambi Lokonga move on:
“Players like Cedric Soares and Albert Sambi Lokonga [could be sold]. Players who are not part of the project isn’t correct. But I would say players were not crucial for Arteta at the moment. So, this is why they want to find a solution for them.
“And then I think later in the window, this could be a possibility for Arsenal to add one more player in that position [right-wing].”

This is an encouraging update to hear, suggesting that Arsenal are still eyeing signings this summer, in order to strengthen their squad ahead of next season, especially with Champions League football returning to the Emirates.
One area that is arguably lacking is on that right-hand side, in terms of having a strong backup option to Bukayo Saka, who remains a vital player but cannot be overplayed across four competitions.
It won’t necessarily be easy for Arsenal to entice a player to the club when they know they will only be a squad player, but the lure of joining such an exciting Gunners side managed a talented manager in Mikel Arteta will surely allow them to bring someone in before the new season gets underway.
