The Sun has reported that Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit to sign 20-year-old Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen however they may face a battle for his signature with Arsenal and Roma.
After making the move from Genk to the German outfit in 2017, the midfielder hit 12 goals in 34 outings last campaign. Yet with Chelsea holding onto Brazilian midfielder Willian, despite the keen interest from Barcelona, it may be a surprise to see Bailey arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Reports in the Sun suggested that Roma were interested in the youngster a few seasons ago with his father confirming this and it is now believed that the Italian club are revisiting their desire to sign Bailey this window.
Despite this, Arsenal have also been linked with the youngster who turns 21 two days before Arsenal kick-off their Premier League campaign against the Champions Manchester City. The Express have suggested Unai Emery could make his sixth summer signing with talks over a deal for Bailey starting next week. If the Leverkusen star was to join the Gunners he would link up with ex-team mate Bernd Leno, yet it will undoubtedly cost Arsenal a hefty sum for his signature.
