Chelsea midfielder to reunite with former Arsenal teammate in France

After having endured a terrible start to his management career, Thierry Henry has seen his Monaco side slip into the relegation zone in Ligue 1.

To help stop the rot, it would appear Henry is turning to a former teammate from his time at Arsenal.

Cesc Fabregas hasn’t started a single league game this season at Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri, and so it’s no surprise to see him linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this transfer window.

And it would appear his most likely destination is to the south of France and a link-up with former teammate Henry. According to The Sun, the deal is all but complete and would see the Spaniard move this month, securing a huge £9 million signing-on bonus to boot.

At 31, Fabregas is approaching the latter stages of his career and will be wanting to do everything in his power to ensure he continues to play first-team football at the highest level for a few years to come yet.

He could be the ideal fit for Monaco, who have only managed 16 goals in 18 league games this season. Fabregas’ creativity and chance creation skills are world class, and with 111 assists in 349 Premier League games, you would imagine that he will be laying on all sorts of opportunities for his future Monaco teammates to bag the goals needed to see them avoid relegation.

This really is a no-brainer for all involved, and though he will be missed in the Premier League, many an English fan will be happy to see him reunited with another Arsenal legend in Henry.
