There had been reports than both Manchester United and Arsenal were interested in Maddison, but by revealing they expect the England international to sign a new deal, it appears likely he will remain at the King Power Stadium. Leicester have previously taken a tough stance concerning the sale of Harry Maguire and Riyad Mahrez and given he is rated £54m (Transfermarkt), any potential suitors may have been warned of.

Leicester City will need players with the kind of attributes Maddison has when they most likely make the transition to European football next season if they are to excel on the continent.
