FanTeam’s Daily Cash Events for 2019/20

This is the third article in 90MAAT’s mini-series in association with FanTeam. If you haven’t already, please check out their website at FanTeam.com and more importantly, check out their new FPL tournament where a prize pool of €250,000 is up for grabs, alongside weekly and monthly cash prizes.

However, there is more to FanTeam than their €250,000 FPL tournament. They also have a number of daily competitions, where you basically play a mini version of fantasy football for one game only.

There are typically three different tournaments for FanTeam’s daily events – for the GW1 main event a buy-in of €2 puts you in a tournament for a prize pool of €5000 (with 2777 seats in total) – a buy-in of €20 means you could be winning up to €50,000 against another 2777 managers. And for the brave amongst us, you can pay a €200 buy-in for a prize pool of €5,000. Wait, why would you pay so much extra to buy-in for the same prize pool? Well, you will be competing against just 26 other people, meaning your chances of winning are a lot higher.

Once you have selected which tournament you want to play in, the exciting bit arrives: picking your team. Obviously, this is not going to be like a typical fantasy football team, where you pick your 15-man squad from just two teams. Instead, you choose just five players, with a total budget of £50 million. This is a very generous budget, allowing you to choose some heavy hitters in your five-a-side team.

There are no substitutes in these daily fantasy football competitions, and you cannot pick more than four players from one team. Furthermore, there are no rules on what formation you can play – you could choose five attackers or five defenders if you really wanted! It is also important to note that goalkeepers are not available for selection in these games.

You also get to pick a captain, who earns double points, exactly the same as he would in the official Fantasy Premier League game. A full breakdown of the point scoring system in all of these fantasy football games can be found at www.fanteam.com.

However, if you feel like being a little bit crafty, knowing that some of these players have scarcely had a pre-season, you may fancy going for some cheaper options in the hope of securing some differential points – i.e. choosing cheaper players who most other managers may not pick.

Maybe I am being overly ambitious by predicting another Divock Origi masterclass on the big stage, but if he were to start for the Reds, which seems plausible given Roberto Firmino’s lack of pre-season minutes, and he DOES bag a goal or two, I would see my ranking in a FanTeam tournament rocket upwards and into a position where I could earn a hefty chunk of cash. These are the risks that all FPL managers will be familiar with.

There are daily fantasy tournaments like these each and every day, across a number of different of leagues, countries and even different sports. It can help turn a trivial game of football into something a lot more entertaining… and financially rewarding.

FanTeam also offer satellite tournaments, where you pay a small entry fee of €5.50 to go into the hat for a free ticket worth €25 into the blockbuster €250,000 FPL tournament that we have been showcasing. Considering only a very limited number of people can enter the draw for the €25 ticket voucher, having a decent chance of winning an entry ticket for as little as €5.50 is a fantastic deal.

Remember to sign up to FanTeam’s €250,000 season-long FPL tournament where you could win up to €50,000.
