Inter Milan striker on his way to West Ham?

The Sun reports that Inter Milan flop Gabriel Barbosa has been offered to West Ham.

The 22-year-old has been judged as surplus to requirements at the San Siro only two seasons after arriving in Italy.

His first season in an Inter shirt was largely underwhelming and he only scored once in 9 appearances before being loaned out to Benfica in the 2017-18 season, but he only made one league appearance for the Portuguese side, eventually heading back to Italy in January 2018.

The Brazilian, however, has revitalised his career this season at Santos where it all started for ‘Gabigol’. He has so far made 35 appearances in the Brasileirao for Santos, scoring 19 times.

And it is this form that has supposedly caught the eye of Manuel Pelligrini. West Ham are lacking options up top of the moment, with only Marko Arnautovic providing any real quality for the Hammers. Javier Hernandez has failed to reach the potential he showed in his time at Manchester United and Andy Carroll, unfortunately, has been plagued with injuries much like the rest of the career.

The 22-year-old would provide a good striking option for Pellegrini given his speed and physicality and his newfound goalscoring form for Santos makes him the complete package.

‘Gabigol’ will supposedly only be available on loan for the Hammers but his poor form when playing in Italy will not provide any complications should West Ham make a concrete offer.

Gabriel Barbosa is starting to live up to his potential once again and Pellegrini may look to the Brazilian starlet to provide some much-needed quality to his frontline.
