Liverpool will look to continue their scintillating home form on Saturday evening when they host Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United, having been unbeaten in 14 games at Anfield.
The Reds welcome former manager Benitez’s Newcastle side who will be looking to recover from two points dropped last weekend at Bournemouth. Liverpool can apply more pressure to Manchester United by moving up to second with a win, as the Mourinho’s side don’t play until Monday.

The last time the Magpies left Anfield with all three points was 1994, and the loss of Gayle after his brace last time out will be a major blow. Couple this with Shelvey missing out through with a knee problem, and this may prove to be a backs against the wall performance early on.
The home side are still missing Clyne after a lengthy layoff, although he has returned to under-23 action as he attempts to regain match fitness. As well as this, Wijnaldum is a doubt to face his former club with an illness but may have a last minute fitness assessment.
