Manchester United v Manchester City

The Premier League’s top two sides meet at Old Trafford for the biggest Manchester derby in four years, as United try to close the eight-point gap at the top of the table.

The Red Devils will have to do it without Paul Pogba, after the French midfielder’s red card against Arsenal last weekend, but are hopeful on Marouane Fellaini’s return to fitness.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Phil Jones are also fit again after injury, while Nemanja Matic will play through the pain barrier after taking a knock last weekend.

The Citizens welcome back David Silva after missing the loss to Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek, but will leave it to the wire to decide on the fitness of Vincent Kompany. If the Belgian cannot play, Eliaquim Mangala will continue alongside Nicolas Otamendi.

Fabian Delph is likely to return after illness, and could replace Danilo at left back after a shaky performance on Wednesday.

Many pundits are calling this fixture one of the most important Manchester Derbies ever, with some going as far as to say that the season is as good as finished already if City win.

That win for City would take them 11 points clear of United, after only 16 games and would set a new record of 14 consecutive victories in a single Premier League season.

Predicted Lineups:

United – De Gea/Jones, Smalling, Rojo/Valencia, Matic, Herrera, Young/Lingard, Lukaku, Rashford

City – Ederson/Walker, Otamendi, Kompany, Delph/Fernandinho, De Bruyne, D. Silva/Sane, Aguero, Sterling

Predicted Score: 1-1
