West Ham United vs Burnley

Date: 10/03/18

K/O: 15:00pm

Venue: London Stadium

Referee: Lee Mason

This game is massive for the David Moyes’ side, as they look to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three when Burnley visit the London Stadium on Saturday.

After last weeks humiliation against Swansea City where they were defeated 4-1, West Ham need to start quickly in order to get anything against a solid Burnley side.

Sean Dyche’s Burnley side have been fantastic this season and despite a recent shaky run of form, they came out of it remaining seventh in the league and recorded their first win since December by coming from behind to beat Everton 2-1 last weekend. A win against West Ham will see the Clarets move within two points of Arsenal, as they look to keep their European dreams alive.

Team News:

David Moyes will certainly have a headache when it comes to selecting his side, as there are some serious concerns. This week it was announced that defenders Winston Reid and Sam Byram will both be out for the season, and West Ham will also be without Pedro Obiang and Andy Carroll who are both carrying long-term injuries. Arthur Masuaku will also be serving the last game of his six match suspension for spitting.

Sean Dyche however could recall Chris Wood to the squad as he has recovered from an injury that has kept him out since December. Although Burnley will be without goalkeeper Tom Heaton and midfielder Scott Arfield as they close in on returns form injuries themselves.

Predicted Line-ups

West Ham United (4-2-3-1) – Adrian, Cresswell, Ogbonna, Collins, Zabaleta, Noble, Kouyate, Antonio, Lanzini, Arnautovic and Hernandez.

Burnley (4-4-1-1) – Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward, Lennon, Cork, Westwood, Gudmundson, Hendrick and Barnes.

Prediction: West Ham United 3 Burnley 1

This is a must win game for the Hammers who will need to be on top form in order to get a result against a tough Burnley side. However, the Hammers do have a good record against Burnley as they have won their last three home games against the Clarets. West Ham will look to redeem themselves this weekend and get a positive result, aided by Michail Antonio’s return to form as he has scored two goals in his last two games.
