Wilfried Zaha seeks Palace exit

Reports have emerged today suggesting Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha will push for a move across the Thames to Tottenham this summer, but is there any truth behind these reports?

According to multiple outlets, including HITC and The Times, Zaha has decided that he wants another shot at making it at the highest level and is fed up of Palace blocking his chance at a move.

The wingers discontent is understandable considering his occasional match winning performances at Palace last campaign. However, it is unlikely that Zaha is willing to cause too much upset over the proposed transfer, especially after the club agreed to bring him back from his failed stint at Manchester United.

Spurs have been monitoring Zaha for a number of transfer windows and now it finally seems the time for the move to happen. The Eagles are seemingly willing to sell but will want to be heavily compensated for the loss of their star man.

The Croydon outfit are believed to want around £60-70m for him, but Levy will not be willing to pay that and will probably seek a deal closer to £50m which would make Zaha Tottenham’s record transfer.

While negotiations are ongoing, Zaha has taken it upon himself to speed up the process by rejecting a new £125,000pw contract. Yet with this being said, with 4 years remaining on his current £100,000pw contract, the onus is very much on Daniel Levy to come up with the goods if they want to secure one of their top summer targets.

With Heung-Min Son out for 2 months with South Korea it will be important for Pochettino to have a player of similar capability to fill in and offer competition later on in the season.
